BONTOC, Mountain Province – The aim of promoting health and wellness among the employees of the Municipal Government and the public has been achieved as the participants of Chagsen Challenge 2023 Part 1 have shifted to a healthier way of living.
Mary Grace Nabayan emerged as the winner after losing a total of 16.8 kilograms from the start of the contest in August 2022 until February 2023. She will receive a cash prize of ₱7,500.00.
Second placer, Neil Lawrence Ilacad has lost 10.6 kilograms thus winning a cash prize of ₱5,000.00 while Estelita Aquino has lost 6.8 kilograms and will receive ₱2,000.00.
Meanwhile, Jay Anne Taud and Henrietta Claire Lingbanan who won the fourth and fifth place have lost 3.5 kilograms and 3 kilograms, respectively. They are set to receive ₱1,500.00 each as cash prizes.
Further, Brendyll Acocking and Aida Ubongen are set to receive ₱1,000.00 each for being the sixth and seventh placers after losing 2.3 kilograms and 2.1 kilograms, respectively.
Eighth placer Mary Juvy Tudlong has lost 1 kilogram and will receive an incentive of ₱500.00.
According to Municipal Nutrition Action Officer Venous Faith Cofulan of the Municipal Health Office (MHO), there were a total of 105 participants who registered but only eight individuals made it to the final weigh-in last February.
Cofulan added that the registration of the Chagsen Challenge Part Two will run from March 1-31, 2023, at the MHO.
Chagsen Challenge 2023 Part 1 is the fifth edition of the “Chagsen Challenge” which was first introduced in 2019 by then-Sangguniang Bayan Member Jerome “Chagsen” Tudlong, Jr. who was then the Chairperson of the Committee on Health and Sanitation in collaboration with the MHO.
The Certificates of Recognition were awarded by Mayor Tudlong and Municipal Health Officer, Dr. Diga Kay Gomez during the regular Monday Flag Raising Ceremony at the Bontoc Municipal Capitol on February 27, 2023.
