Baguio City – A young lady was killed when she was bumped and ran over by a bus along Lower Magsaysay Avenue, Baguio City on July 25, 2018.
Police authorities identified the pedestrian victim as Edna Mangulay Loot, 24, single, and a resident of PA-349-C, Wangal Extension.
Investigation disclosed that at about 7:50 AM of July 25, an Isuzu Mini Bus with panel route Baguio – Sagpat, Kibungan, Benguet and vice versa, bearing plate No. AYR-700, driven by Mr. Melchor Segundo Batel-ey, 46, married, driver, and a resident of Brgy. Balakbak, Kapangan, Benguet was passing Lower Magsaysay Avenue heading towards Dangwa Terminal. While it was particularly in front of Milan Building, traversing the inner lane, its front left side portion accidentally bumped/hit and run over the victim who was crossing the said road.
As a result, the victim sustained injuries and was brought to the Pines City Doctors Hospital for treatment by concerned citizens, a painter and a nurse.
The victim, however, was declared dead due to massive injuries at about 9:20 AM of the same date by attending physicians.
The driver and the vehicle were turned over to the Traffic Enforcement Unit of the Traffic Enforcement Unit-BCPO.
The case is under investigation as of press time.
