TABUK CITY, Kalinga September 05 – A labourer died while his companion is still in serious condition after they were bumped by a still undisclosed type of vehicle along the provincial road at Laya East, here, Tuesday night.
Senior Superintendent Brent Majaco, provincial director of the Kalinga Provincial Police Office, identified the fatality as Ryan Sacla while he named his injured companion as Jaime Lacuata, both laborers of J. Peralta Enterprises.
Initial police investigation showed the victims and their companions had just finished drinking liquor when the duo asked permission from their colleagues to buy their food in a nearby store.
After a few moments, their colleagues heard a loud bang of an object coming from the southern portion of the road and then they saw a speeding white vehicle heading northward.
Responding police operatives immediately rushed the victims to the Kalinga Provincial Hospital but Sacla was pronounced dead on arrival by attending physicians due to multiple head and body injuries while Lacuata remains unconscious due to similar head and body injuries.
The driver of the vehicle is now the subject of a manhunt operation by the responding police operatives for them to answer for the crime he committed.
