PARACELIS, Mountain Province October 23 – A laborer died, while five others, including his daughter, were injured after a forward mixer where they were on board suffered from mechanical trouble, bumped a gmelina tree and fell on a concrete portion of the road at Turdo, Palitud, here, Sunday.
Police authorities identified the fatality as Roderick Bautista Dayag, of legal age, labourer and a resident of Palitud, Paracelis, Mountain Province while the injured mixer occupants were named as Honelyn Dayag, Eddie Casanova Pumagat, Rodolfo Corpuz Reparip, 55, married, laborer and resident of Catubangan, Palitud, Paracelis, Mountain Province, Disong Quinto and Junjun pacua.
Initial police investigation showed that the said individuals were no board a forward mixer truck when upon reaching the descending portion of the road, the vehicle suffered mechanical trouble forcing the driver to bump the same on a gmelina tree but it allegedly fell on its side that pinned the victim and his companions before sliding downwards.
The victims were rushed to the Paracelis District Hospital for medical treatment but the fatality was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians due to multiple head and body injuries.
