BONTOC, Mountain Province – A tragic motor vehicular accident claimed the life of one male on April 3, 2024.
The victim was identified as Ambrosio Dumagos from Kilong, Sagada, Mountain Province.
Per the report, the Bontoc Emergency Operations Center (EOC) received a call from a concerned citizen informing them of a motor vehicular accident with a lone passenger that transpired along Baguio-Bontoc Road at Dantay, Barangay Alab Proper, Bontoc, Mountain Province.
Per initial assessment by the responders, the victim was found at the incident site with no pulse and not breathing with blood oozing from his nose and mouth.
Per post mortem conducted by Municipal Health Officer Dr. Diga Kay Gomez, the cause is sudden death due to traumatic brain injury secondary to a motorcycle accident.
Upon verification of the victim’s identity, the Bontoc EOC coordinated with the Sagada municipal government to ferry the body of the victim to his residence.
At around 5:53 P.M. of the same day, the body of the victim was claimed by his brother and was ferried to his residence in Kilong, Sagada through the Sagada municipal government vehicle.
The cleansing ritual was conducted by the community elders led by former Municipal IPMR George Luis “Changat” Fakat at the Bontoc Municipal Capitol Ato.
The responding teams were personnel from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Municipal Health Office, Bureau of Fire Protection, Bontoc Municipal Police Station, and members of the Bontoc Emergency Response Team. By Alpine L. Killa-Malwagay
