CAMP DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet February 24 – Combined police operatives and intelligence agents successively arrested fourteen persons who were caught in the act of playing card games and drop balls in a separate police operation recently.
In Abra, joint Intelligence operatives of the Abra Provincial Police Office of arrested eleven persons at the Fiesta Carnival in Zone 2, Bangued.
The arrested individuals were identified as Reyquel Esta Samusam, 27; James Baptista Duyao, 26; JR Matinez Marquez, 28; Glenford Ebangelista Vicencio, 24; Darrel Doroni Banguilan, 22; and Arnel Bersamina Rebaula, 26, all operators of “Drop Ball” while bettors were Mark Ver Batalao Valeros, 29; Joel Bayang Collantes, 32; Twinks Doroni Banguila, 18; Dennis Gabu Barreyro, 26; and Erwin Gabay Guzman, 23.
Confiscated from their possession were six pieces of “embodo”; six pieces of “labayan”; 24 pieces of “tapete”; 13 pingpong balls; and cash bet amounting to P88,941.00.
In Baguio City, three persons were likewise arrested recently at the parking area of Maharlika Building, Baguio City. The arrested individuals were Raymund Operario Batang, 36, Alejandro Bienes Besa, 52, and Alejandro Galvan Quibote, 61, all residents of Baguio City.
Their arrest was made possible through a tipped information by a concerned citizen informing that an illegal gambling was in progress prompting the operatives of station 7 to respond to the area that resulted to the arrest of the said individuals.
Confiscated from the suspects were a complete set of bicycle playing cards and cash bet amounting to P750.00.
A case for violation of PD 1602 otherwise as Illegal Gambling was filed against all the arrested suspects before the concerned Prosecutor’s Office.
