LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – Preparations are underway for the staging of the firstI Love Pangasinan (ILP) Cycling Classic on May 28.
The cycling tournament with an approximate distance of 192kms.will be participated in by about 70 cyclists – mainly from Pangasinan, with a few from other provinces.
The road race starts at the Maramba Boulevard in Lingayen at 9:30AM.
From the starting point, the race will pass through coastal municipalities in western Pangasinan, as follows: Labrador, Sual, Alaminos City, Bani, Agno, Burgos, Dasol and Infanta. From Infanta, the race will make a turn back to Dasol, Burgos, Mabini, Alaminos City, Sual, Labarador and Lingayen until it reaches the finish line at the Capitol Complex.
Race Director General Jess Garcia said spectators shall witness intense road action along the route of the cycling tournament.
Garcia said the sporting event shall adopt the standard rules and regulations by the Union Cyclist International, the international governing organization for cycling events.
To jumpstart the preparations, Gov. Amado I. Espino, III issued on May 16 the executive order no. 0043-2017 which created the manpower support committee which shall oversee the conduct of the cycling event.
