BAGUIO CITY May 19 – Three persons were injured after they were stabbed by a lone knife-wielding suspect when they allegedly mauled the latter at Camp 8, here, Thursday.
Police authorities identified the victims as Benjie Baccayan, 21, porter and presently residing at Camp 8, Baguio City; Gregory Tataan Cablot, 15, student and presently residing at Purok 3 Camp 8, Baguio City; and Daniel Bongabong Lobchoy, 17, Out of School Youth and residing at Purok 3 Camp 8, Baguio City while the arrested suspect was named as Jojo Gonzales Rivera, 24, single, butcher at Baguio City Public Market, at Cagayan and presently residing at Camp 8, Baguio City.
Initial police investigation showed the suspect was walking down the road when he met the suspects who were proceeding towards the opposite direction and for still unknown reasons, the victims suddenly mauled him.
He immediately pulled out the knife that he kept on his pocket and successively stabbed the victims on the different parts of their bodies.
The victims were rushed by concerned citizens to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) for medical treatment while the suspect was arrested by responding police operatives during a follow-up operation.
