LA TRINIDAD, Benguet August 30 – Four suspected drug pushers who were in possession of prohibited drugs and other drug paraphernalia were successfully arrested by combined police operatives and anti-narcotics agents during the implementation of a search warrant in a rented room at Stonehill, Balili here at around 7 am Thursday.
Inspector Joyce Ann Dayag, public information officer of the Benguet Provincial Police Office, identified the arrested drug personalities as Sonny Benancio Muñoz, 19, single, driver, Harley Gilan Boyaoyao, 19, single, Tito Guiliao Morlan, 33, single, farmer and Harvey Compa-as Joseph, 32, single, all natives of Kapangan, Benguet and residents of Stonehill, Balili, La Trinidad, Benguet.
Confiscated from them were various drug paraphernalia’s and two (2) sachet, personal effects such as cellular phones and wallets of the arrested persons.
The search warrant was issued by Judge Adolfo R. Malingan of the Municipal Circuit Trial Court (MCTC) Branch 3 of Bokod-Kabayan that justified the conduct of the appropriate operations against the arrested drug suspects.
The four suspects are now detained at the Benguet Provincial Jail awaiting the filing of violation of the provisions of Republic Act (RA) 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Law against them.
Superintendent Cherry Fajardo, public information officer of the Police Regional Office (PRO) in the Cordillera, said law enforcers are relentless in the conduct of anti-illegal drug operations in order to reduce the supply of prohibited drugs that would help spare the youth from being exposed to the serious negative effects of using prohibited drugs in their development as responsible and dedicated citizens of the community.
