BARLIG, Mountain Province October 02 – Fifty passengers of a mini-bus cheated death after the said vehicle suffered mechanical trouble, moved backward and leaned on the side of the road at sitio Mauwey, barangay Chapac, here, Tuesday.
Chief Inspector Bernardo |Wong, public information officer of the Mountain Province Provincial Police Office, said that 43 passengers of the ill-fated mini-bus were reportedly injured and were rushed to the different hospitals in Barlig, Natonin and Bontoc while 7 passengers were unhurt in the said vehicular accident.
Initial police investigation showed that the Natonin-bound mini-bus was negotiating a portion of the national road when it suddenly suffered from mechanical trouble that caused it to immediately move backward and then leaned on the side of the road thereby inflicting multiple head and body injuries to its occupants.
Rescuers and emergency responders immediately rushed to the accident scene and rushed the victims to the different hospitals while responding police operatives of the Barlig Municipal Station are conducting an investigation on the cause of the accident.
