LA PAZ, Abra – A 41-year old businessman and a well-known drug personality died after he was shot on the chest by police operatives and intelligence agents during a brief shootout in front of his residence a Malabbaga, here, Wednesday.
Superintendent Mark Pespes, officer-in-charge of the Abra Provincial Police Office, identified the fatality as Napoleon Turqueza Gamer, 42, married, businessman, and a known drug personality in Barangay Malabbaga, La Paz, Abra.
Initial police investigation showed combined police operatives went to the victim’s residence for the Oplan Tukhang but while they were approaching the house of the drug personality7, he allegedly pulled out his calibre .38 revolver and fired at the troops forcing them to fire back.
The victim sustained a lone gunshot wound on his chest and was rushed to a local hospital but he was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians.
Responding elements of the Scene of the Crime Operation (SOCO) team recovered from the crime scene three fired cartridge cases of caliber 9mm, one homemade caliber .38 revolver, with engraved marked Colt Special Made U.S.A., with SN model 3-44833, loaded with three ammunitions and one fired cartridge case, two caliber .38 ammo, two heat-sealed plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, and one small foil were also found inside the bedroom.
The case will still be subject to further investigation by the concerned police operatives.
