FLORA, Apayao – A 47-year old retired member of the Philippine Army was arrested by combined police operatives and anti-narcotics after having found in his possession alleged illegal firearms, assorted ammunitions and illegal drugs during the service of a search warrant in his residence at Guinto, here, Friday.
Senior Superintendent Felix Dayag, officer-in-charge of the Apayao Provincial Police Office, identified the arrested individual as Silverio Sipsip Juan alias Silver, 47, married, a retired member of the Philippine Army and a resident of Guinto, Flora, Apayao.
Confiscated from his possession during the service of the search warrant issued by Judge Richardson G. Agbisit of the 5th Municipal trial Court (MTC) based in Flora were two (2) M16 A1 Rifle (Elisco) with SN: RP 044786 and RP 109701; one (1) Caliber 45 with SN: 90750; five (5) magazines and146 pieces live ammunition for M16 Rifle; one (1) magazine and 43 pieces live ammunition for M14 Rifle; three (3) magazines and 30 live ammunition for Cal 45; two (2) pieces live ammunition for 9MM; One (1) pc live ammunition for Cal. 22; one (1) Railed Scope and one (1) inside holster; One transparent plastic bag containing five (5) disposable used lighters; Several used crumpled aluminum foils and empty transparent plastic sachet; One (1) violet sling bag containing playing cards case with three (3) used empty transparent empty sachet with white crystalline substance residue; Five (5) small totters; One (1) red plastic straw and one (1) stainless metal 2.5 inches long; Four (4) bags of transparent plastic sachet and One (1) scissor; and one (1) bamboo stick and two (2) pieces plastic straw.
The arrested person and the confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to the Flora Municipal Police Station for documentation prior to the filing of charges of violations of the provisions of Republic Act (RA) 10591 of the Firearms Control Law and RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Law against him.
