La Trinidad – The Highlander cruised to an expected easy victory as it inches closer to the tournament leaders and improved its chances for a twice to beat advantage for the playoffs of the 4th Season of the La Liga Buguias last September 11, at the San Jose Gym, here.
The Highlander, the only team on the top six seeing action for the day, dumped the Chiefs, 79-57, and hiked its record to 7-3, just half a game behind the Giants, Mark N’ Kins, and Timpuyog. All three teams were occupying joint second and idle during the last playing date.
Young Guns still hold the top spot with an 8-1 record.
In the other games, the Fireball further compound the woes of the Insanhood, 96-86, while the Insalong Bros barely passed the Hotspring, 70-68.
Fireball now occupies solo seventh in the team standings while Insalong Bros is tied with Abatan for eight and ninth places. The top eight team advances to the quarterfinals, with the top four teams having twice to beat advantage.
Action continues this Sunday, September 18, at the San Jose Gym with the following games taking place 9:00AM Abatan vs Insalong Bros; 10:15 Mark N’ Kins vs Insanhood; 11:45 Giants vs Doms.
