TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Despite the no face-to-face learning set-up of Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) for those enrolled in child development centers (CDC) due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the supplemental feeding program (SFP) will still be implemented.
Social Welfare Officer Marydhel Lattot of the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) said that since classes will not be held at the CDC, the food will be brought to the children.
She said that hot meals will be prepared at the CDC and will be distributed among day care children in their respective homes.
The food indicated in the menu will still be prepared by parents on schedule, Lattot said.
For the 10th cycle of SFP implementation, Lattot said that there are 2,750 enrolled children this school year from the 150 CDC in the region who are expected to benefit from the program.
The SFP is the provision of hot meals in addition to the regular meals to the children enrolled in CDC which is part of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) support to the ECCD program of the government.
Each child is allotted P15.00 per day for the 120 days feeding of hot meal and alternative healthy provisions. By Darwin S. Serion
