TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Pets in barangay Lucog received free anti-rabies jabs and other veterinary treatments from the Office of the City Veterinary Services Office (CVSO) during their 2-day regular medical mission last June 8-9, 2022.
With the aim to vaccinate at least 70 percent of dogs and cats population in the city before the year ends, the City veterinarians goes door-to-door to provide free veterinary services and treatments to pets in percent Lucog to ensure rabies free and safer animal existence in the area.
As per the data provided by the CVSO, a total of 69 males and 87 females of dogs and cats were jabbed for the anti-rabies vaccine.
Other medical services were also conducted including the anti-mange (gudgud) where 4 dogs were treated, and deworming treatment for 61 ducks, 17 swines, 4 turkeys, and 3 carabaos.
As per the CVSO, these free services are part of their regular medical mission, and they have targeted to cover all the 43 barangays in the city. So far, they have finished 15 namely Balawag, Suyang, Amlao, Malin-awa, Bulo, Agbannawag, Cabaritan, Magsaysay, Dagupan West, Appas, Casigayan, Laya East, Laya West, Balong and Callacad.
As the city government continue to intensify campaigns against rabies while instilling responsible pet ownership, the CVSO encourages other barangays to avail for the medical mission program by requesting it through their office.
