BAGUIO CITY – The Cordillera Regional Research Development and Innovation Committee (RRDIC), through its Technical Working Group, planned for the observance of the 2023 Regional Innovation Day last March 16.
The Innovation Day theme is, “Showcasing CordiNNOVATIONS toward inclusive and sustainable communities” and is scheduled on April 21. However, the celebration will be for the whole week from April 21-27. The Innovation Exhibit will be a main activity that will feature skills demonstration, prototype production, animation demo, research projects and poster displays, among others.
The celebration will commence with a kapihan with other activities such as research symposium for students, social media blasts and an Innovation Training and Pitching. The Cordillera National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA-CAR) will be assisting in the Innovation Training and Pitching as it hopes to demonstrate how innovation is embraced in the region’s advocacy toward sustainable development and autonomy.
The Regional Innovation Day celebration aims to showcase innovation-related projects and programs and strengthen the collaboration of the government, academe, entrepreneurs and the private sector. Through these activities, the Committee hopes to increase engagement, understanding and appreciation on innovation as an important strategy for sustainable economic growth.
Regional Director (RD) Nancy A. Bantog of the DOST serves as the Chairperson of the Committee with the University of Baguio as Co-Chair, RD Susan A. Sumbeling of NEDA sits as the Vice-Chair.
