KABUGAO, Apayao – The Provincial Health Office (PHO) has recently distributed a total of PhP490,000 in cash incentives to 98 accredited barangay health workers (BHWs) and barangay nutrition scholars (BNSs) in Kabugao.
The distribution was held at the Dioniso S. Agudelo Memorial Gymnasium, on January 12, 2023, and brought together 98 BHWs and BNSs, who are the direct beneficiaries of this initiative.
Each recipient received a cash grant of PhP5,000 along with essential kits containing boots, umbrellas, and uniforms.
Acknowledged for their key roles in delivering health services, providing fundamental health education, and delivering selected primary healthcare services at the grassroots level, BHWs and BNSs act as connectors between communities and healthcare facilities. Their commitment is evident through their diligent daily household visits and fulfilling their responsibilities within designated healthcare facilities.
Expressing gratitude and encouragement during the event, Kabugao Municipal Health Officer Dr. PJ B. Ukkong proudly announced that Kabugao has achieved the highest accomplishment in measles/measles-rubella supplementary immunization activities. Ukkong also urged the health workers to continue their dedication and altruism in assisting others.
