The celebration of the Silver Foundation Day of the Benguet Special Education (BSPED) on March 11, 2017 at the school quadrangle was capped with the crowning of Malcolm Jared Bacuso and Jade Hazen Binayan as the 2017 Mr. and Miss Benguet SPED.
Other members of the Royal Family were the pairs for First Runner–Up Bryant Emaguin and Shan JelseyDicam Second Runner–up, SedLex Gaspar Dumpayan and Chloe Marie Palileng; and Third Runner–Up, Aidan Patrick Mayao and Maya Alexis Gonzales. Special titles were given to Lester Jon Besoy and Justine Kate Laoyan as Mr. and Ms. Friendship; Charles Joshua Consolacion and Benz Balaswit as Mr. and Ms. Hope, while Mr. and Ms. Peace were snatched by Noah Navalta and Anastacia Ching.
Aside from their crown and sash that bears their respective dignified titles, each was given a token. It was indeed one of the rare chances, deserving pupils grandly marching with their gowns, tuxedo, and crown while waving and smiling sweetly to the crowd.
The event was made more impressive by the serenade of the Rondalla performers of the school, Albert Resse Cuilan, Kurtley John De Jesus and Juliene Kristine Kigangan, along with the mother and child tandem of Mrs. Maria Corazon Bangsi-il and Kenoa Bangsi-il. In between each intermission, draw lots of tickets were done and prizes were readily given to the lucky winners.
Coronation rite happens at BSPED every after five years hence, the 2012 Mr. and Miss Benguet SPED Center, Benedict Umayat and Eisha Chloe Calixto carried their crown for quite long until finally, they passed it on this 2017. Credits to the PTA Officers and members for their initiative and incalculable support, their undertaking did not only make the school’s silver anniversary celebration meaningful, comfort rooms will soon be constructed through the raised funds. Truly, stakeholders always play a vital role thus, rapport and trust need to be maintained.
