FLORA, Apayao – Two new single-story school buildings were formally inaugurated at Atok Elementary School (AES) and San Jose Integrated School (SJIS) in Flora on April 23, 2024.
Said turnover ceremony was led by Apayao Lone District Representative Cong. Eleanor C. Bulut-Begtang, who is focused on adding more classrooms to public schools in the province.
Bulut-Begtang, along with Acting Governor Remy Albano, and District Engineer Ronalyn P. Ubiña of the Apayao Second District Engineering Office (ASDEO) of the Department of Public Works and Highways, handed over the keys to the school buildings to Alfredo B. Carlos of AES and Juanita F. Goting of SJIS. According to the two school heads, these buildings are important for providing better education to students, as they now have extra classrooms for learning.
Each building has 2 classrooms, which helps reduce overcrowding in the classrooms. These buildings cost a total of P6 million and were built under the guidance of Congresswoman Eleanor C. Bulut-Begtang and Governor Elias C. Bulut Jr., through the DPWH ASDEO.
Meanwhile, Bulut-Begtang reaffirmed her support for DepEd’s needs, particularly in improving education quality in the province. Recently, she led the inauguration of several key DepEd buildings, including four new administrative buildings in lower Apayao, and a two-story school building in Luna town. By Michelle Acantilado
