Baguio Contingent dominates sports journalism joust

La Trinidad, Benguet – The Baguio City Division executed a rout in the competition among sports campus journalists to take home most of the titles during the 2016 Regional Schools Press Conference held last December 8-11, 2016 at the Benguet National High School-Main Campus, Wangal, here.

Leading the march for Baguio were Khrystine Dominique Sansano of the Alluyon of University of Baguio Science High School for Best Secondary Filipino Sports writing, The Pine Tree of Baguio City National High School (BCNHS) for the best English secondary sports section, the Ang Bagiw of also of the BCNHS for best Filipino secondary sports section and the Gibraltar Chronicles for best elementary English sports page.

Kalinga, Tabuk City and Mountain Province also sneaked in topnotchers during the event.

Glydeene Cadelina from Pinukpok Elementary School of Kalinga was declared as best elementary Filipino sports writer. Ria Joyce Liklik from Magsaysay Elementary School Elementary was best in English sports writing while Marc Wilson Balloyan of the Khangsa of Saint Vincent High School gave Mountain Province its lone top three award by besting the opposition in the secondary English sports writing.

Meanwhile, Benguet showed the best consistency in the secondary group competitions by bagging a total of six spots of a possible ten for the top five placements for both English and Filipino sports page categories.

The Aming Munting Tinig bagged the best elementary Filipino sports page while The Crafter of the Tublay School of Home Industries was adjudged as the second best in English sports page and so was the Ang Alingawngaw of the Lepanto National High School.
