BAGUIO CITY – The leadership of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) ordered its various operating units to intensify their respective anti-bullying campaign in order to significantly reduce the number of children being bullied not only in schools but also in their respective barangays and even their homes.
Recently, personnel of the BCPO Police Community Relations (PCR) Unit led by Superintendent Johnson Smith Abellera conducted lecture to the Youth Leaders of Andres Bonifacio Barangay during their Barangay Council for the Protection of Children (BCPC) and Youth Task Force Anti-Bullying Seminar held on November 29, 2015 at the Triple AAA Mountain Resort located at Al-Alinao Norte Naguillan La Union.
SPO2 Eraño V. Dela Cruz, Public Information PNCO, broadly discussed to the youths the different reasons why students and children are being bullied and the Anti-Bullying Tips.
He further expounded the role of the youth leaders in disseminating and promoting the Anti-Bullying campaign towards the attainment of peace and order in the community.
Wherein, young generations for today should be looked upon as future leaders not as lawless element; and engage thru in barangay community services.
Senior Superintendent Rolando F. Miranda, BCPO officer-in-charge, said there is a need for concerned police personnel to sustain the aggressive information and education campaign in relation to anti-bullying in order to teach the youth the proper behaviour in the community and for them to contribute in community development efforts and not in the destruction of the image of today’s youth through unscrupulous activities.
Part of the previous efforts in intensifying the government’s anti-bullying campaign was the distribution of school supplies to the children of policemen that contain anti-bullying tips so that their children will be the ones to lead the way in getting rid of bullying in their respective schools where they are enrolled.
He said the members of the local police force play a key role in helping reduce the number of bullying incidents by providing the public with the appropriate knowledge on what incidents are considered to be bullying and the tips on how to prevent such untoward incidents considering that the same is punishable under existing laws, rules and regulations.
