TABUK CITY, Kalinga- Once again, Benguet Division was declared as the over-all champion in the 2019 Regional Festival of Talents-Technolympics held here on November 25-29.
Benguet Division edged its closest competitor, Tabuk City which placed first runner-up with a total of 122 points against the latter which is 118.
The second runner-up was grabbed by Baguio City with 113 points.
The RFOT-Technolympics with the theme “Authentic Filipino Talents and Skills: Breaking the Barriers for Inclusive Education” aims to provide opportunities for learners in public and private schools as well as learners from the Alternative Learning System (ALS) and SPED to showcase their talents and skills through the exhibition of their products, services and performances. It also serves as an opportunity for the students to gain experience and for the coaches to benchmark on the different events.
The participants from the different divisions showcased their talents and skills in the following categories and disciplines. In the elementary division, the contested activities are Asexual Plant Propagation, Invitation Card Making using MS Publisher, Basic Encoding, Simple Circuit, Dish Gardening, Innovative Recipe, Fruit and Vegetable Carving. The secondary division took part on Electrical Installation and Maintenance, Furniture and Cabinet Making, Computer System Servicing, Auto CAD (Technical Drawing), Bread and Pastry Production, Dressmaking, Hair and Facial Make-up, Multiple Rootsock, Landscape Installation, Food Processing, and Bazaar Exhibit.
The Benguet Schools Division was represented by a total of 35 participants headed by Benilda M. Daytaca, Schools Division Superintendent and Samuel S. Ayangdan, Schools Division Supervisor for Edukasyong Pantahanan at Pangkabuhayan (EPP), Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE), Technical-Vocational Education (TVE).
