BONTOC, Mountain Province – The municipal government blessed its newly-procured ambulance rescue vehicle recently, at the Municipal Capitol Quadrangle.
According to Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer Johanna Padaen, the ambulance which is equipped with basic equipment for rescue operations was procured under the 5-percent Calamity Fund of the municipality.
Prior to the purchase of the ambulance, the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) had two pick-up vehicles being used by the Operations Center, thus, the procurement of an ambulance rescue vehicle is part of the municipality’s continuing disaster and emergency response and preparedness capability upgrade.
Mayor Jerome “Chagsen” Tudlong, Jr., fervently prays that no untoward incident may occur in the municipality, but should it be inevitable, the public is assured of immediate response from the municipal government and its partner stakeholders.
“The new ambulance rescue vehicle will considerably aid our responders in their rescue operations and will assure the safety and comfort of our patients,” the mayor remarked.
The blessing of the ambulance rescue vehicle was officiated by the Very Reverend Lucrecia Turtem of the Episcopal Diocese of Northern Philippines and was attended by the members of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.
