BONTOC, Mountain Province – The municipal government recognized the winners of the search for the Most Functional Barangay Nutrition Council through the MELLPI-Pro Tool Evaluation.
Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Plan Implementation-Protocol (MELLPI-Pro) is designed to monitor and evaluate the performance of local government units (LGUs) and local nutrition focal points (LNFPs) in promoting nutrition security vis-à-vis nutrition outcomes.
Thus, the awarding aimed to recognize the efforts of local communities in advancing nutrition and well-being.
Barangay Samoki secured the top position with a score of 61.58%, earning them a Certificate of Recognition and a cash prize of P6,000.
Bontoc Ili’s Barangay Nutrition Council came in second with a score of 61.39%, receiving a Certificate of Recognition and a P5,000 cash prize.
Tocucan landed third with a rating of 60.21%, garnering a Certificate of Recognition and P4,500.00 in cash.
Caluttit took the fourth spot with a rating of 58.74%, also receiving a Certificate of Recognition and a cash prize of P3,000.00.
Bontoc Mayor Jerome “Chagsen” Tudlong, Jr., lauded the dedication of the barangay governments in promoting nutrition and well-being within their communities, highlighting the importance of nutrition education and community engagement in creating healthier and thriving localities.
Their awards were handed over by Mayor Tudlong, Municipal Health Officer Dr. Diga Kay Gomez, and Municipal Nutrition Action Officer Venous Faith Cofulan during the regular Monday Flag Raising Ceremony on October 2, 2023, at the municipal capitol grounds.
