KABUGAO, Apayao – Governor Elias C. Bulut, Jr., commended the 98th Infantry Battalion (IB) of the Philippine Army (PA) for facilitating government services closer to the people in Apayao.
Speaking at the 3rd Founding Anniversary celebration of the 98th IB PA at the historic Old Capitol Site in Iyapan Heights, Poblacion, Kabugao, the governor emphasized a shift in focus of the Army from combat to becoming a catalyst for economic activity and progress in the province.
“In your third year here in Apayao, it is no longer just about combat; your presence in my beloved province now serves as a catalyst for economic activity and a driving force for progress,” Gov. Bulut, Jr. stated.
He highlighted the battalion’s new role in Apayao, emphasizing humanitarian aid to reach remote areas and educate the public about government programs.
“As long as my actions align with the welfare of the people, continue what you’re doing even if it means facing challenges,” he affirmed.
Governor Bulut, Jr. likewise thanked the battalion’s dedication to protecting and serving the yApayaos, playing a crucial role in the province’s journey towards progress and development.
“You are here to protect us, to serve our people, and ultimately to help Apayao in our road to progress and development” he said. By JCM
