TABUK CITY, Kalinga – In order to properly perform their functions in their respective fields, more than 60 personnel from the Public Order and Safety Office (POSO) attended a two (2) day seminar on Values and Skills Enhancement at the M Hotel on September 28-29, 2023.
Aside from their basic duties, the trainees were lectured about moral values development/enhancement, basic moral values at the workplace, and law enforcement and security, among others.
POSO Chief Domingo Burcio also reminded the participants that they should always treat everybody with respect and practice tolerance when dealing with difficult clients.
He also said that they should take the mandate of their office which is to implement public order and safety laws and ordinances, help improve traffic management, and enhance disaster preparedness and response to heart.
“Be passionate in your work,” Burcio said.
Representing City Mayor Darwin Estrañero, Oliver Gacuya lauded the participants for completing the seminar.
He said that it is good to see the further development of a unit, which is the POSO, as a part of the larger city government family.
“Iti POSO, dakkel iti part na in maintaining peace and order along the roads while supporting our Land Transportation Office and the police,” he said.
Gacuya expects that after the two days of instruction, the participants will have internalized and grasped every concept and will put it into practice when they return to their jobs.
Last but not least, Gacuya said that the mayor made a commitment to give the POSO a larger budget in order to hire additional employees and/or buy better equipment if they continue their excellent performance.
