CALANASAN, Apayao – A 7-year old boy died after he allegedly drowned when he and his friends went swimming in the Apayao River at Poblacion, here, recently.
Police authorities identified the fatality as John Wayne Dawel, 7 and a resident of Poblacion, Calanasan, Apayao.
Initial police investigation showed the victim and his friends went swimming in the said river but after a while, his friends noticed that he was missing that prompted them to look for him.
The victim was later rushed to the Apayao District Hospital for medical treatment but he was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians.
