City officials recently congratulated and commended Ricky B. Ducas and the Anxiety and Depression Support Group–Baguio City for garnering the bronze for the Healthy Pilipinas Awards of the Department of Health (DOH).
In a resolution, local legislators stated that Ducas and his organization were recognized for their unwavering commitment to mental health and rescue through advocacy programs and initiatives in various communities, especially to vagrants with psychosis through the assistance of partner agencies like the City Health Services Office (CHSO), the Baguio City Police Office-Women’s Desk, the City Social Welfare and Development Office, the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center–Psychiatry Mental Health Support and Services, the Baguio City Emergency Medical Service, the DOH-CAR Mental Health Unit and Anxiety and Depression Support Group–Baguio City board members and advisers.
The health department’s Health Pilipinas Awards is an annual event that recognizes the contributions of individuals and organizations in promoting health and wellness in the city.
Last October 27, 2023, the Anxiety and Depression Support Group–Baguio City headed by Ducas was awarded the Bronze Award in the said program in recognition of its contribution in the implementation of appropriate interventions to address such pressing concerns in the city.
Ducas, who is serving as the mental health coordinator of the City Health Services Office (CHSO), was instrumental in the sustainable implementation of mental health programs, projects and activities in the city that paved the way for some vagrants to be brought back to their respective families and reduce the proliferation of psychotic vagrants in the city since the wrath of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Copies of the approved resolution will be transmitted to Ducas and his organization for their respective information, guidance, ready reference and further needed action. By Dexter A. See
