TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The City Cooperatives and Enterprise Development Office (CCEDO) today conducted an orientation on the compensation for cooperative officers at the Diocesan Training Hall, Bulanao Norte.
According to Engr. Ryan Jose, Program Development Officer of CCEDO, there is no standard compensation set by the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) for cooperative officers and management staff. The increase in compensation and honorarium, he said, depends on the financial capability of the cooperative and approval of the general assembly.
Jose also mentioned during his presentation, the three components of compensation namely fixed income or basic salary, variable pay, and benefits.
The following are the benefits accorded to cooperative officers like SSS and Philhealth coverage, 13th month pay, cash gift, COLA, retirement benefits, sick and vacation leave, among others. The variable pay is contingent on performance, examples include performance bonus and overtime pay.
The CCEDO lauded the efforts of cooperative officers for doing their jobs well despite the limited honorarium and compensation to help their cooperatives succeed and implement its services and programs well.
