TABUK CITY, Kalinga – To ensure the further development of the cooperatives, not just in Tabuk City but in the Province of Kalinga as a whole, the Cooperative Development Authority-Cordillera (CDA-CAR), in partnership with the provincial government and the city government, through the Office of the Provincial Cooperative Enterprise Development Officer (OPCEDO) and the City Cooperatives and Enterprise Development Office (CCEDO), conducted a four day CDA One-Stop Shop on March 19-22, this city.
According to CDA-CAR Regional Director, Atty. Franco G. Bawang, Jr., the activity serves to cater all the needs of cooperatives who have not completed their obligations to the CDA.
“As per record gamin, medyo nababa iti compliance iti cooperatives (the compliance from cooperatives are a bit on the low side). Ngem nationwide met kitdi, haan lang lang nga dituy ayan tayu (But it is a nationwide issue, not just here),” he said.
According to Bawang, the CDA developed the One-Stop Shop as a way to connect with the cooperatives that were unable to submit their requirements following a consultation.
“Ti kasta ket mabalin tayu nga i-assist tapnu more or less ket ma-comply da dagidiay requirements nga necessary tapnu ma-sustain dagidiay status da as operating and active cooperatives (So that we can assist them and, more or less, they can comply with the necessary requirements to sustain their status as operating and active cooperatives),” he said.
According to the regional director, at first, they only intended to accept small cooperatives and those who were non-compliant but they ultimately chose to include those who were in compliance but lacked trainings.
“Maysa gamin iti training nga requirement tapnu maikkan iti certificate of compliance ket isu lang iti mang delay kanyada. (Their delay can be attributed to the necessity of trainings in order to obtain their certificate of compliance),” he said. By Edward Joseph Gacuya
