TABUK CITY, Kalinga – On July 3, 2023, students and parents from New Tanglag National High School participated in a full-force symposium organized by the City Federated Parents Teachers Association (CFPTA).
The BAGWIS initiative, which was started by DepEd and is being carried out by the CFPTA this year, stands for Basic Education in-Action at all Levels of Governance and Sectors Working for Initiative for Success. It has already visited 10 schools in the city.
Joined by various agencies and offices in the city such as the Department of Education (DepEd), Philippine National Police (PNP), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), City Population Development Office, and City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), this event aims to disseminate basic education on career development, anti-bullying, drug prevention, anti-insurgency, anti-violence among women and children, adolescents health and teenage pregnancy, and fire prevention and first aid training.
After the event, school supplies were distributed to Elementary learners sponsored by the CFPTA Director Hon. Eduardo Sacayle and City Mayor Darwin C. Estrañero.
Additionally, CFPTA Secretary Roliza Tapang acknowledged NTNHS for having the most number and most engaging parent participants.
To continuously guide and educate students and parents in the city, the CFPTA intends to conduct the BAGWIS each year. By Rio Bassong
