LUNA, Apayao—The Philippine National Police Cordillera Regional Community Affairs & Development Division (RCADD) and Apayao Police Provincial Office joined forces in reaching out to 63 learners and four teachers of the Salvacion Elementary School here on November 29 as a meaningful way of celebrating the 27th National Children’s Month.
Police Lt. Col. Luis Perez of RCADD in collaboration with Apayao Provincial Director PCol. Byron Tegui-in led the team in conducting the outreach program they distributed backpacks and assorted goods to the learners along with their teachers of the school.
Perez said the distribution of goods is an early Christmas gift to inspire the children to study harder and pursue their dreams. According to Perez, there is a need to be tough and be more resilient whatever life gives them.
In line with the theme “Karapatang Pambata, Patuloy na Pahalagahan at Gampanan Tungo sa Magandang Kinabukasan,” lectures were also conducted about anti-bullying and special protection of children against abuse, exploitation and discrimination.
Tegui-in encouraged the children to learn and be aware of their rights as he also assured the support of PNP Apayao in curbing lawless elements to maintain peace and order in the province.
In response with the good deeds shown by the PNP, Salvacion Elementary School Teacher-in-charge Rasie Batayan expressed her utmost appreciation to the team saying the school is very fortunate to be selected as recipient of this program.
