BAGUIO CITY – The Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) continues to prove it is one of the top performing police units nationwide after it brought home a number of regional and national awards for its officers and personnel.
BCPO City Director Police Col. Allen Rae F. Co was awarded the Best Senior Police Commissioned Officer for this year during the 118th Police Service anniversary in the Cordillera.
Aside from reaping the prestigious individual award, BCPO was also adjudged the Best Mobile Force Company, Best City Police Station represented by BCPO Station No. 9, Best Senior Police Non-Commissioned Officer for Operations and the Best Anti-Drug Enforcement Unit for the region.
The BCPO’s core values of communication, collaboration, and commitment embodies all the accomplishments it was able to gain for the past months.
With its program ‘ Bisita Co, Alaga Co’ which is geared keeping all of the people safe in the mantra that resonates with their every action, Co underscored the city police force continues to gain in its efforts to sustain the decent peace and order situation in the city following the continues decline of crimes happening in the different parts of the city not only for the past several months but also for the past several years.
According to him, BCPO will not rest on its laurels as the city police force will continue to challenge themselves to achieve more and produce more significant accomplishments to improve the lives of the people they serve and make Baguio city a peaceful place to study, work and do business.
With the support of the community, Co said BCPO will earn the right and be worthy of the title “Baguio Police, Police Ko Ito.’
“ This is now the time, the people of Baguio, to seize the opportunity as we are very much fortunate indeed to have a transformational and inspirational leader paving the way for us to realize that all that we dream of, a better Baguio, a Baguio that is the safest city not only in the country but also in the whole of Southeast Asia and even the world, not only for its natives or locals but also for countless other people, like me, who have to come to love Baguio as our own,” Co stressed.
The BCPO officer urged the community and stakeholders to continue extending the support to the city police force in the implementation of its strategic programs, projects and activities geared towards further improving the prevailing peace and order situation in the city as a key factor in achieving robust progress.
Co disclosed the city police force continues to devise how to effectively and efficiently put to work its existing peacekeeping, anti-terrorism, anti-criminality and other initiatives that will contribute in providing a decent peace and order environment for both residents and tourists alike as Baguio is one of the premier tourist destinations being frequented by foreign and city tourists alike in the country.
He urged the public to immediately report to the nearest police stations any untoward incident that are about to transpire or those that have transpired in their areas for appropriate police action.
