TABUK CITY, Kalinga – After the conduct of the functionality assessment and monitoring of ten barangays on District 1 under the Empowerment and Reaffirmation of Paternal Abilities (ERPAT) program, the City Social Welfare and Development Office names its deserving winners.
ERPAT Cabaruan received a certificate of recognition and 25,000 pesos for obtaining the highest rating among the participants. ERPAT Magsaysay took 2nd place and won P20,000; ERPAT Laya East ranked 3rd with P15,000; and, ERPAT Balong placed 4th with P12,000.
On February 24, during the ERPAT District 1 Planning Review and Evaluation Workshop at Laoagan Resort, ERPAT Cabaruan President Johnny Igo expressed his gratitude to the city government for recognizing the importance of developing the skills of fathers in performing their paternal responsibilities.
Social Welfare Officer Marinel Dorgay explained that the functionality assessment of each participating barangay was based on key indicators including compliance with required documents, active participation in organizational activities, and presence of a backyard garden.
Enrique Baliang, who represented Mayor Darwin Estrañero in his inspirational talk, commended each participant’s unceasing involvement in community-based trainings while maintaining their roles as a nurturing father to their family.
He hoped that these recognitions would, in turn, improve these organizations to enhance and strengthen the parenting capabilities of Filipino fathers in the city. By Cyrus Van Kurt Solbita
