BAGUIO CITY – Following the mandatory retirement of Regional Executive Director (RED) Cameron P. Odsey, Regional Technical Director (RTD) for Research and Regulations, and Integrated Laboratories Atty. Jennilyn M. Dawayan has been designated as the Officer-in-Charge-Regional Executive Director (RED) of the Department of Agriculture-Cordillera (DA-CAR) effective July 26, 2023, per Special Order No. 879, series of 2023, dated July 20, 2023.
Dawayan is a CPA lawyer by profession and currently holds the position of Director III. She is also a Career Executive Service Officer with a rank of CESO IV.
She first served in the DA-CAR as an Accountant I in 1998 and was then promoted to Accountant II. After which, Dawayan became the OIC- Finance Officer of the Finance Department. Later on, she transferred to the John Hay Management Corporation (JHMC) and served as Finance Manager from 2010 to 2011. In 2011, she rejoined the DA Family as Regional Technical Director at the DA Region III wherein she served until 2018. Afterward, she transferred to the DA-CAR as RTD for Research and Regulations, and Integrated Laboratories from 2019 to 2022. Later in 2022, she was given a chance and opportunity to head the DA-Region I as OIC-RED until she was recalled back to her mother agency.
“Thank you very much, Sir. With all your help, we can do this,” said Dawayan during the turnover of the Key of Responsibility last July 25 at the DA-CAR multi-purpose building.
To fill up Dawayan’s vacated position, Dr. Arlene M. Sagayo, Chief of the Integrated Laboratories Division was designated as the OIC-RTD for Research and Regulations. This is also effective July 26, 2023, as per Special Order No. 878, series of 2023, dated July 20, 2023.
In her acceptance message, Dr. Sagayo said that she accepted the designation as an opportunity despite it not being part of her plan. Accordingly, she was inspired by one of the ordination messages that elaborated E.G.O. as a cause of destruction when we intend to go to servanthood. EGO stands for excuses, grumbling, and opposition. “Mission accepted,” Sagayo exclaimed.
Additional special orders are being prepared within the DA-RFO CAR following the new designations to ensure the smooth and continuous implementation of programs and projects of the regional office in the Cordilleras. By JBAgrifino
