Simula ngayong Abril, ipatutupad na ng SSS ang bagong iskedyul ng kontribusyon. Sa ilalim ng bagong Social Security Act of 2018, tataas ang kontribusyon sa 12 porsyento mula sa kasalukuyang 11 porsyento. Samantala, tataas din ang Monthly Salary Credit (MSC) kung saan magiging P2,000 ang pinakamababa mula sa dating P1,000 at P20,000 naman ang pinakamataas, mula sa dating P16,000.

Matapos ang pagtaas ng contribution rate ngayong taon, unti-unting tataas ng tig-isang porsyento ang contribution rate kada dalawang taon hanggang 2025. Ibig sabihin, mula sa bagong contribution rate ngayong taon na 12 porsyento, magiging 13 porsyento ito sa taong 2021, 14 porsyento sa taong 2023, at 15 porsyento sa taong 2025.

Pagdating naman sa Monthly Salary Credit o MSC, ang bagong minimum na P2,000 at maximum na P20,000 ngayong taon ay magiging P3,000 at P25,000 sa taong 2021. Sa pagsapit ng taong 2023, tataas naman sa P4,000 ang minimum samantalang magiging P30,000 ang maximum MSC. Pagtungtong ng 2025, magiging P5,000 na ang minimum at magiging P35,000 na ang maximum MSC.

Nabago din ang hatian ng employer at employee. Sa taong 2019 hanggang 2020, sasaluhin ng employer ang 8 porsyento ng MSC samantalang 4 porsyento naman sa empleyado. Sa taong 2021 at 2022, ang 8.5 porsyento ay manggagaling sa employer at 4.5 porsyento naman sa empleyado. Sa sumunod na dalawang taon, 9.5 porsyento ang sasaluhin ng employer samantalang 4.5 porsyento pa rin sa empleyado. Pagdating ng 2025, ang hatian ay magiging 10 porsyento na sa employer at 5 porsyento naman sa empleyado.

Halimbawa, sa dating 11 porsyentong contribution rate, ang isang empleyadong sumasahod ng P10,000 kada buwan ay kakaltasan ng P363.30 bilang kanyang SSS contribution samantalang P736.70 naman ang babayaran ng kanyang employer. Sa 12 porsyentong contribution rate na may maximum MSC na P20,000, magiging P400 ang employee share at P800 ang employer share. Samakatuwid, ang katumbas ng dagdag kontribusyon ay P36.70 sa empleyado at P63.30 naman sa employer.

Sadyang napakarami ng mga numerong nababasa ninyo, ngunit ano nga ba ang ibig sabihin nito sa mga miyembro ng SSS? Paano ba sila makikinabang sa pagtaas ng kontribusyon at Monthly Salary Credit?

Ayon kay SSS President at Chief Executive Officer Aurora C. Ignacio, ang pagtaas ng contribution rate at MSC ay magbibigay daan tungo sa mas malaking benepisyo at pribilehiyo para sa mga miyembro ng SSS. Ang MSC kasi ang isa sa mga pangunahing batayan sa pagkuwenta ng mga benepisyo at pribilehiyo sa SSS. Halimbawa, sa ilalim ng bagong maximum MSC na P20,000, ang isang miyembrong nakabayad ng 12 kontribusyon sa loob ng 12 buwan bago ang semestre ng pagkakasakit ay makatatanggap ng P600 kada araw na Sickness Benefit, kumpara sa P480 kada araw sa ilalim ng lumang MSC.

Good news din ito para sa mga susunod na retiree pensioners dahil tataas ang kanilang matatanggap na pensyon. Kung dati ay P6,400 ang monthly pension na natatanggap ng isang retiree pensioner na nakapaghulog ng maximum MSC na P16,000 sa loob ng 120 buwan, ngayon ay magiging P8,000 na ito kada buwan dahil P20,000 na ang bagong maximum MSC,

Sa ilalim ng bagong Social Security Act, may bagong benepisyong ibibigay ang SSS at ito ay ang Unemployment Insurance. Makatatanggap ng 2 buwang ayuda ang mga inboluntaryong natanggal sa trabaho basta’t may hulog sila ng 36 buwang kontribusyon, 12 buwan dito ay kinakailangang nasa loob ng 18 buwan bago ang inboluntaryong pagkakatanggal nila sa trabaho.

Ilan lang yan sa marami pang benepisyong nag-aantay para sa ating mga miyembro. Paniguradong kapag natapos na ang Implementing Rules and Regulations ng RA 11199 o Social Security Act of 2018 ay madadagdagan pa ang mga magagandang balita at programa na nakalaan para sa 36 milyong miyembro ng SSS.

Hinihiling lamang namin ang pakikiisa ng bawat miyembro at kawani ng ahensiya para maisakatuparan ang hangaring makapagbigay ng mas malaking benepisyo at pribilehiyo na siguradong mapapakinabangan ng mas nakararami. Tulad ng sinabi ni SSS PCEO Ignacio, kinakailangan na habang malakas pa tayo ay magsikap tayong makapag-ipon para sa ating kinabukasan at tanging sa SSS lamang ang may pinakamura at pinakamadaling paraan para mag-ipon para sa panghabambuhay na pensyon.

Ipinapaalala ng SSS sa lahat ng mga miyembrong kabilang sa Personal Equity and Savings Option o PESO Fund na maaari na silang magbayad ng kontribusyon sa pamamagitan ng Globe Gcash. Libreng mobile application ito na ekslusibo sa mga Globe at Touch Mobile prepaid at postpaid subscribers. Kinakailangan munang mag-download ng GCash App o tumawag sa *143# upang ma-access ang self-service menu. I-dial ang *137# at piliin ang number 2 para sa “National Government Agency”, piliin ang PESO Fund” mula sa listahan at ilagay ang 10-digit SSS Number. Sa mga susunod na kolum ay pag-usapan naman natin ang kahalagahan ng PESO Fund at bakit magandang mag-invest dito.
