TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Regional Director Araceli San Jose from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Cordillera served as one of the guest speakers during the City/Municipalities’ Day on February 12, 2024 in celebration of the 29th Kalinga Founding Anniversary and 5th Bodong Festival at the Kalinga Sports Center.
In the presence of the local government units represented by their chief executives, Director San Jose highlighted the significance of community involvement in achieving the new branding of the Government “Bagong Pilipinas.”
In practicing the Bodong system in the province, she stressed the importance of empowered communities and fostering a sense of ownership in the country’s transformation.
She also emphasized the importance of every citizen’s participation in relevant affairs of the community relating to the Bagong Pilipinas program. This is in relation to the vision of the President centered on preserving and enriching the diverse cultural legacy of indigenous peoples in the country.
She also praised the harmonious relationship of the IP communities in Kalinga through the Bodong system.
She mentioned that through the new branding of the country, there would be more cooperation of the people that will lead to progress in the nation.
During the program, DILG RD San Jose also handed plaques of recognition and certificates to the city and the different municipalities in the province.
