BAGUIO CITY – The management of Victory Liner, one of the prestigious bus companies operating in the city, formally turned over to the city government a bus that will be used by some offices in their transportation requirements.
The bus was received by city officials led by Mayor Benjamin B. Magalong and Vice Mayor Faustino A. Olowan from Apolo Padagas, Baguio station master of Victory Liner, during simple turnover rites as one of the highlights of the regular Monday flag raising ceremony held at the city hall grounds.
Magalong expressed his gratitude to the Victory Liner management for the donation as the bus will help in providing transportation needs of big groups of government workers on trips inside and outside Baguio City.
The donation was made by the bus company amidst the expected transfer of the company’s existing terminal along Gov. Pack road to its passenger center in Barangay Marcoville to help the city government decongest one of the city’s main roads currently being used as parking area of different bus companies serving routes in the lowlands and Metro Manila.
The city mayor directed the City General Services Office (GSO) and the City Human Resource Management Office (CHRMO) to devise a scheme on the use of the bus to provide shuttle service for the employees of the city government working in the various offices.
Part of the terms of the donation is that Victory Liner will be in charge of the regular maintenance of the bus to ensure it will be in good running condition for the safe and convenient travel of its passengers to their desired destinations inside and outside Baguio City.
Effective November 8, 2019, the company’s buses that used to park along Gov. Pack road will transfer to its existing passenger terminal in barangay Marcoville.
Earlier, city officials convinced the management of Victory Liner to transfer its existing operation along Gov. Pack Road to its passenger terminal in barangay Marcoville to free the left side of Gov. Pack road and allow the smooth flow of vehicular traffic on the said road.
Victory Liner is one of the bus companies that service the different routes in Metro Manila and Zambales through its numerous units that provide convenient travel to passengers to their desired destinations in the different parts of Central Luzon and the National Capital Region (NCR).
The bus will be an added government vehicle that will augment the city government’s existing flee of vehicles used in the delivery of basic services to the city’s constituency in the different barangays as part of the present administration’s 15-point collective agenda in enhancing the delivery of social services.
Despite transferring to its passenger terminal in Barangay Marcoville, Victory Liner management decided to continue using its allocated parking area along Gov. Pack road for its regular trips to Pangasinan and other arts of the lowlands through the years.
