BAGUIO CITY – Public Works Secretary Mark Villar ordered the relief of DPWH-CAR regional director Engr. Nerie D. Bueno from her position and her subsequent transfer as regional director of DPWH Region 8 immediately.
Bueno’s relief order was signed by Secretary Villar on August 20, 2018 and was received by the DPWH-CAR two days after.
Bueno will be replaced by Engr. Tiburcio L. Canlas, who is the incumbent assistant regional director of DPWH-National Capital Region (NCR) based on the order emanating from the Office of the Secretary.
DPWH-CAR insiders claimed that Bueno already vacated her office as of August 28, 2018 or a few days upon receipt of the relief and transfer order from the central office in time for the expected assumption into office of the newly designated DPWH-CAR regional director.
Construction industry stakeholders are keeping their fingers crossed that the newly assigned DPWH-CAR regional director will be open to suggestions and recommendations on how to improve the implementation of the funded infrastructure projects in the different parts of the region to help in improving the overall performance of the office in the accomplishment of projects that were funded under this year’s budget.
Previously, DPWH-CAR was recognized for being the top regional office in the implementation of funded projects within its area of jurisdiction based on the disbursements of payments made for completed works by the contractors who were awarded projects to implement.
Local officials, DPWH-CAR employees and construction industry stakeholders are eagerly awaiting the assumption into office of the newly designated DPWH-CAR regional director for them to assess and evaluate his policies while holding office in the region.
