BANGUED, Abra – A 59-year old driver died after he allegedly drowned in a fish pond at barangay Calaba North here Thursday.
Senior Superintendent Antonio Bartolome, provincial director of the Abra Provincial Police Office, identified the victim as Alejandro Alcantara Almazan, 59, married, driver, and a resident of Calaba North, Bangued Abra.
Initial police investigation showed that the victim left his house early morning to gather water spinach in their fish pond.
However, his second cousin was able to discover his lifeless body floating on the fish pond several hours later prompting his relatives to seek assistance from concerned autorities.
Elements of the Scene of the Crime Operation (SOCO) team found no external injuries on the victim’s body that caused his relatives to waive the conduct of the autopsy.
