DAGUPAN CITY, Pangasinan – The Department of Social Welfare and Development-Field Office 1 (DSWD-FO1) conducted a Skills Enhancement Training in Technical Writing and Packaging Sibol Stories or inspiring “stories of change” of the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) participants.
The SLP-Regional Program Management Office of DSWD-FO1 held the training for SLP coordinators in Pangasinan on November 24-25, 2022 at the 567 Resort and Events Place in Binmaley town.
Marie Angela Gopalan, regional director of DSWD-FO1, said the training aims to improve the competencies of staff in documenting the good practices and success stories of the SLP program beneficiaries and stakeholders.
“SLP is one of the core poverty reduction programs of the DSWD. Its role as a capability building program is to improve its beneficiaries’ socio-economic conditions through accessing and acquiring necessary assets to engage in and maintain thriving livelihoods,” she said.
Staff of the Philippine Information Agency-Regional Office 1 were tapped to serve as resource speakers for the two-day event with topics such as news and feature writing, and basics of photojournalism.
The same activity was held at the Playa Tropical Resort Hotel in Currimao, Ilocos Norte on November 10-11.
It was participated in by SLP coordinators from the provinces of Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, and La Union. (PIA Pangasinan) BY: APRIL M. MONTES-BRAVO
