Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad Benguet: Eight alleged members of the Bagni Group were arrested in a simultaneous operation for violation of loose firearm of Police Regional Office Cordillera (PROCOR).
Combined personnel of Tuba MPS, CIDG RFU -CAR and Benguet PMFC arrested the suspects identified as Reymund Barbero Bagni, Gordon Jackson Walis, Gilbert Balacdey Loreto, Shobert Sumalnap Ubuagan, all of legal age and residents of Naguilian, Sallapadan, Abra; Eljhon Ubuagan Sumalnao, Florencio Ayao Beronilla, Dearly Langgi Beronilla, and Jerome Berona Guerrero, all of legal age and natives of Sallapadan, Abra.
They were all captured at sitio Barakbak, Brgy. Ansagan, Tuba, Benguet in the morning of September 25, 2018.
Raymund Bagni is the supposed the leader of the group and alleged NPA member who surrendered during the Marcos regime while the others are alleged members of the CPLA. Their group were engaged in a gun running and land grabbing activities of which some prominent personalities got to use them.
Also, as a result of the search warrant issued by the Vice Executive Judge RTC, La Trinidad, Benguet, 3 shotguns; 2 cal .22 rifles; 1 M16 rifle; 5 magazines for M16 rifle; 4 magazine assemblies for Cal.22; 3 live ammos for 12 gauge shotgun; and 38 live ammunition for M16 were confiscated.
Moreover, 28 assorted firearms were accounted in which 26 firearms were surrendered by the concerned community; 6 firearms are confiscated; while 2 were recorded for safekeeping.
This accomplishment is one of the numerous triumph considered as overwhelming outcome of the campaign against loose firearm and dismantling of organize groups of PROCOR.
