Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Secretary Ma. Antonia Yulo-Loyzaga visited the province dubbed as the “Last Nature Frontier of the North” Apayao on February 15, 2024, where she was welcomed by DENR-CAR officials and employees.
In her message to the regional environment officials during the Regional Management Conference, she acknowledged the special role of the province in safeguarding the wonderful and vast ecosystem which is vital not only to the region but to the whole country as well.
Furthermore, she mentioned that industrialization which drives the economy must be balanced with environmental care and that green and gray infrastructures should work together.
Moreover, the environment secretary disclosed that the DENR will be undergoing organizational transformation while adopting the concepts of digitization and digitalization in the offices of the department thereby ensuring more efficient and effective performance in the delivery of its mandate.
