TADIAN, Mountain Province October 25 – A 65-year old farmer died after a still unidentified type of explosive exploded while he was opening the padlock of the back door of their farm house at sitio Awa, Cadad-anan, here, Monday.
Police authorities identified the fatality as Miguel Lang –odan Abkilang, 65, gardener, married, and a resident of Cadad-anan, Tadian, Mountain Province.
Initial police investigation showed the victim and his wife left the door of their farm house unlocked during the weekend but when they went back to tend their farm for the week, they were surprised to see the door of their farm house locked that prompted them to inspect the structure.
While the victim was trying to open the padlock of the back door of their farm house, his wife heard an explosion that caused the victim to be sprawled bloodied on the ground.
Responding police operatives and elements of the Scene of the Crime Operation (SOCO) team found the victim sustained shrapnel wounds on the different parts of his body that caused his instantaneous death.
The case is still subject to further investigation by the responding police personnel from the Tadian Municipal Police Station.
