LAGAWE, Ifugao – A 69-year old farmer died after he was repeatedly shot to death by his own neighbour within their compound at Banting, Poblacion West, here, Friday.
Police authorities identified the fatality as Miguel Peros Flaris, 69, married, farmer and a resident of Banting, Poblacion West, Lamut Ifugao while the suspect was his neighbour, Roy Mugas Lejat, 49, married.
Initial police investigation showed the victim was aiding his newly born calf in their compound when he was suddenly called by the suspect.
After a few moments, a heated altercation suddenly erupted between the two individuals that prompted the suspect to allegedly shoot him several times with the use of a handgun.
The victim’s wife reportedly saw the suspect and several companions flee from the crime scene after the shooting incident.
Responding police operatives and elements of the Scene of the Crime Operation (SOCO) team recovered from the crime scene five spent shells and two live ammunitions of a calibre .9mm pistol which was used by the suspect in the perpetration of the crime.
The suspect is now the subject of a manhunt operation by police operatives for him to answer for the murder charges to be filed against him before the provincial prosecutor’s office.
