STA. BARBARA, Pangasinan March 06 – A 50-year old farmer died after he was stabbed by a jobless man during an alleged altercation at Zone 4, Payas, here, Saturday.
Police authorities identified the fatality as Romeo Reyes, 50, farmer while the suspect was named as Johny Frias Nicolas, 37, single, jobless both residents of Zone 4 barangay Payas, Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan.
Initial police investigation showed the victim and he suspect had a heated altercation that prompted the latter to grab a knife and stabbed the victim on the different parts of his body.
He was immediately rushed by concerned neighbors to the Region 1 Training and Medical Center in Dagupan city for medical treatment but he was pronounced dead on arrival by attending physicians due to fatal stab wounds on his body.
The suspect is now the subject of a manhunt operation by responding police operatives after he fled towards an undisclosed direction bringing with him the weapon used in the said incident.
The motive of the incident is still unknown.
