BAGUIO CITY – Two time bodybuilding titlist Francis Faroden bagged his third consecutive title as Mr. Baguio during the Mr. Baguio Open Invitational Bodybuilding competition held September 1, 2017 at the Baguio Convention Center.
Faroden came out strong in the open weight division to claim the division championship. Lined up for the final showdown, Faroden bested other champions from the open class category: fly weight division’s Arthur Manungad Jr., Bantam weight division’s Marlon Estrada, and Light Weight division’s Nover Pugdon, enroute to the overall championship. Faroden also nailed the ending two minute pose down to claim the best poser of the competition.
Other winners in the open class category as follows are: Flyweight Division: Champion-
Arthur Manungad Jr.; 1st Runner Up – Jun Aris Sino Cruz; 2nd Runner Up – Arnel Nemento; 3rd Runner Up – Billy Rey Baliling; and 4th Runner Up – Jerry Johnson. Bantamweight Division: Champion – Marlon Estrada; 1st Runner Up – Rafael Crisologo; 2nd Runner Up – John Erickson Pantera; 3rd Runner Up – Paolo Michael Vergara; 4th Runner Up – Domingo Cabanatan Jr.
Lightweight Division: Champion – Nover Pugdon; 1st Runner Up – Johnrey Prado; 2nd Runner Up – Vilmor Rocannada; 3rd Runner Up – Rholdan Malicdan; 4th Runner Up –Jason Asmin; Openweight Division: Champion- Francis Faroden; 1st Runner Up – Albin Remitares; 2nd Runner Up – Greg Tianes; 3rd Runner Up – Richard Riciskoy; 4th Runner Up – Gohan.
Meanwhile, contestants in the Teenage Physique Division were judged in three judging criteria that included muscularity and overall body composition, shape and symmetry, and stage presence and personality. After lengthy comparisons from the board of Judges the following emerged as winners: Champion- Fritz Jordan Taya-am; 1st Runner Up – Jeremiah Ocyaden; 2nd Runner Up – John Patrick Dela Rosa; 3rd Runner Up – Alfred Fel-ey; 4th Runner Up – Guillermo Baoidang.
Vice Mayor Edison Bilog and Councilor Elmer Datuin graced the program. They congratulated the organizers as well as the contestants and the public for their support for the program being an institutionalized sports program of the City. They added that the 108th Founding Anniversary celebrations will be featuring other programs for its month long celebrations.
Bilog handed out the cash prizes, certificates, trophies and supplements to the winners. Faroden also took home an adjustable bench press as part of his winnings.
