LAGAWE, Ifugao – A father and son were able to escape the attack of a bolo-wielding suspect who tried to hack them in the vicinity of their residence at Nadalipayan, Boliwong, here, Thursday.
Police authorities identified the two injury individuals as Ernesto Lobhoy Tayaban, 59, married, farmer, and his son, Donato Ambojnon Tayaban, 29, single, farmer while the bolo-wielding suspect was named as Jun Munguiho, 32, single, farmer all residents of Nadalipayan, Boliwong, Lagawe, Ifugao.
Initial police investigation showed that the bolo-wielding suspect who was allegedly under the influence of liquor proceeded to the residence of the complainants and started challenging them for a fight without any apparent reason.
He initially attacked the younger complainant but the latter was able to elude the attack. The suspect started to attack him again but his father, who was armed with a piece of firewood, came out of their house and struck the hand of the suspect that caused the bolo to fall on the ground.
The suspect the drew the other bolo inside its scabbard that was tack on his waist but the complainant started hitting him until the bolo fell on the ground.
The complainant submitted the two bolos to the responding police operatives while the suspect was able to walk towards his residence considering that the case will be for regular filing with the provincial prosecutor’s office.
