FLORA, Apayao— Governor Elias C. Bulut Jr. swore in 128 recently elected barangay officials in Flora, Apayao through a ceremonial oath taking at the Dr. Efren U. De San Jose Memorial Sports Center, Poblacion East, Flora, Apayao on November 30, 2023, signifying the commencement of the officials’ term lasting until 2025.
Among those sworn in were 16 punong barangay and 112 barangay kagawad, all pledging dedicated and principled service to their respective barangays before local government officials of Flora, community members, and supporters who witnessed the formal induction of the newly elected officials.
Bulut Jr. commended the outgoing local leaders and welcomed the newly elected ones into the world of public service. “Idtuy nga agrugi ti trabaho yu ken arapaap a kas opisyal para ti panag progreso ti barangay, ili ken iti probinsya tayo,” Bulut said reminding them of the meaning to serving the public.
Also in attendance during the event was Congressman Eleanor C. Bulut-Begtang, who previously administered the oath of office of the newly elected barangay officials of other municipalities. Flora Mayor Rodolfo Juan, Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator Engr. Henry Caluducan, Board Members Mcleen Julian and Emliano Galleon, other local officials, and constituents were also present during the said undertaking.
In a show of support for the newly elected officials and their barangays, the provincial government gave a financial assistance of PhP50,000 to each barangay towards facilitating the implementation of local projects and address the needs of constituents within the barangays.
As a token of appreciation, Hon. Gov. Bulut Jr. presented PhP 100,000 to the Flora Senior Citizens Chorale group for their continued community engagement. By M Acantilado
