Inatech Service Center kept the game close as they galloped with the Stallions in the first canto of action to led 26-23. Stallion Froi Pearson and John Gaspar had the steady hand converting baskets for the horses..
Gaining momentum, Inatech poured on a 21-15 blast in the second canto. Arvin Almazora, on heightened basket conversions, pushed Inatech to lead by nine points, 47-38. John Michael Gaspar solely kept the Stallions from being left far behind, scoring 14 of the 15 points for the Stallions.
The Stallions tried to come back in the third canto but could not limit Inatech’s running game as a 22-all quarter score came short of cutting the lead, 69-61. The Stallions pushed themselves to the limit with their defensive strategies in the fourth but Inatech’s Dexter Ramos came ready with his guns ablaze, converting 12 points of their 18 points, to held on the win, 87-80.
Meanwhile the Baguio General Hospital ballclub also underscored the University of the Philippines, 68-63, in their match up last Sunday in a slow scoring game.
Behind by a point, 15-16, in the first canto, BGH came back in the second canto of play to regain their momentum. Vonn Padilla registered a 13 point conversion to push his team ahead by three points at the end of the second canto, 33-30.
On the other hand, UP’s Jeffrey Javier and Ralph Paragas convert baskets in the third canto to ignite a UP run but came out short in cutting the lead as Inatech still outscored them by three, 22-19, with Ralph Rillorta converting the last shot to increased their lead to six, 55-49, at the end of the third.
UP’s Javier and Paragas pushed on the points in the fourth but giving BGH easy shots in the dying minute of the game cost them the victory.
